Susan Christenson

Pilates has been a core part of my life since the college years. Studying Nursing and Biology while balancing basketball and track, I tried Pilates as an alternative exercise routine. This was life-changing. Pilates transformed my mind and body, and in turn my collegiate athletic career. I was hooked and became Mat Pilates certified before the end of that year.

My Story

After college I began a long career as a registered nurse, working in a variety of settings from Intensive Care to schools. In 2018 when the opportunity arose to study Reformer Pilates, I knew this was a marriage of science and movement that could help so many people.

I received my Reformer Pilates Certification from Melinda Bryan of The Pilates Studio of Los Angeles in 2018 and went on to train, study and apprentice with Renae Exner, owner and founder of Everyday Pilates Studio, learning the classical exercises, breath work, prop use and inspirational cueing techniques. I am diving deep and continue to learn all i can about the practice of Pilates.

Working at Everyday Pilates in Red Wing, we bring Pilates to our community by cultivating acceptance, growth and tranquility. Pilates will be a stretch for your mind and body and leave you feeling refreshed, lenghtened, stronger and rejuvenated!

When I am not teaching I enjoy golfing, traveling, reading, knitting (especially at breweries) and spending time with family and friends. I am fortunate enough to be married to my above average husband Nathan and we have 3 fabulous kids: Bryn, Noah, Solveig and a cute new puppy, Gustie.
